Kannywood Actress Maryam Booth Becomes the First Women and Girls Summit Ambassador


Among so many firsts at the just concluded Women and Girls Summit was the conferment of Ambassadorial responsibilities on Kannywood star actress Miss Maryam Booth. Miss Maryam Booth is a well-known icon in the Northern Nigeria movie industry. As an ambassador she would lend her voice to key issues affecting girls in Nigeria and join other leading gender advocates to draw attention to these issues.

The first Women and Girls Summit is an initiative of First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, in collaboration with the National Centre for Women Development (NCWD), Friends Africa and the Kudirat Initiative for Democracy (KIND) and was held from October 13-14, 2014, in Abuja.
