Selma Wins Best Original Song Oscar for John Legend and Common

Ava DuVernay's "Selma" starring British Nigerian actor David Oyelowo as Martin Luther King, Jr; won the Best Original Song Oscar with Glory composed by Lonnie Lynn (Common) and John Stephens (John Legend) and it is a great consolation after all the controversy over the omissions of DuVernay in the nominations for Best Director and Oyelowo in the nominations for Best Actor.

The 87th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences was held on February 22, 2015, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, USA.
